smarter city 8 cores

Big cities around the world have efficient and up-to-date systems through which they operate and function. These well-designed systems make them steps ahead of other cities. And in this fast-paced world, our country needs to step up its development and keep up with the pace to become globally competent.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has come up with a new developmental approach called “Building Smarter Cities towards a Smarter Philippines”. It is “DOST’s technology-based inclusive development program” that aims to make secondary cities in the Philippines “smarter” – that is, more innovative, more sustainable, more participative and equitable, and more livable.
