S&T CARAVAN

Strategy of the department to promote the adoption and commercialization of matured technologies and create a culture of S&T based communities in Region 2 through various activities such as livelihood trainings, fora, consultations, industry dialogues, project site assessments and technology needs assessments (TNA).

 

 



 

Five S&T Caravans were conducted for this year in the provinces of Batanes, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya. The team is composed of pool of experts from DOST-PAGASA, PHIVOLCS, NAST, IPO Phil, Bataan Peninsula State University, Central Luzon State University and DOST 02.


Highlights of the caravan were the following:

a). provision of S&T services on water sampling/testing and technical assessment of micro laboratories of 12 barangays and 2 Provincial Health Offices in Itbayat, Batanes and Nagtipunan, Quirino and 1 Municipal Health Office in Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya;

 

b). technology transfer activities accomplishing a total of 47 S&T trainings and 40 technology fora participated in by2,595 participants from the academe, partner agencies, SETUP clients, entrepreneurs, inventors, researchers, students, teachers and other S&T enthusiasts; and c). conduct of technical consultancies on biogas, renewable energy, IP and packaging and labeling benefitting a total of 16 firms
