FOOD SAFETY

Provides technical assistance to food processing establishments in the areas of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and food safety.

 



The Cagayan Valley Food Safety Team conducted 11 seminars attended by 542 SETUP clients, food handlers, business operators, school canteen owners and teachers in Region 2.  The team also provided 16 consultancy services and technical assistance through the conduct of firm-level audits and site assessments to food establishments in the region.  These activities strengthened participants’  awareness on safe food handling practices, safeguarded access on safe drinking water and decreased food wastes of food service establishments.

Under this project, FOS was able to generate funds from Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) amounting to P 265,000.00 while each firm assisted allocated P 10,000.00 for the food and accommodation of the speakers.
