August 18, 2021- The Department of Science and Technology Region 02, through its S&T Scholarships Unit, welcomed 38 new Junior Level Science Scholarship qualifiers today during their virtual orientation via Zoom.

Due to COVID restrictions, the students’ academic grades served as a basis for the scholarship’s selection process. 38 out of 301 applicants were privileged enough to qualify for the JLSS scholarship.
21 of whom are considered potential qualifiers; 10 scholars are pending due to lacking documents and 11 scholars for further evaluation.
Ms. Cecilia S. Calagui, Center Manager for S&T Scholarships, discussed Scholarship Policies and Agreement. Moreover, Ms. Geraldine R. Cruz, Science Research Assistant, discussed Scholarship Benefits and Scholar’s Obligation.
Ms. Virginia G. Bilgera, Assistant Regional Director for Field Operations Services and Officer-In-Charge, Office of the Regional Director, was present in the orientation and extended her heartfelt congratulations to the new set of “Iskolars para sa Bayan”.
Ms. Mary Ann P. Maglasin, Assistant Regional Director for Finance Administrative Support Services and Scholarships was also present. She highlighted the call of patriotism for scholars in this pandemic, saying “know by heart your responsibilty!” (S&T Pen 02 – Jericho Fronda)
