CAGAYAN VALLEY – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02 deployed RxBox device to the selected RHUs of Quirino namely RHU Aglipay, Cabarroguis, Maddela, and Nagtipunan after the Super User Training Part 2 at Quirino State University-Diffun, Gymnasium.

The official turnover of RxBox devices was facilitated by DOST Quirino Provincial Director Ms. Rocela Angelica Gorospe. The RxBox Regional Training Coordinator and Project Assistant, Ms. Marchel A. Acilador and Jenny-Rose G. Masocol respectively, also partook in the turnover. These devices were awarded to RHU representatives after the training.
The training began with the heartfelt opening message of the Quirino Provincial Director. Mr. Nel Shurney B. Fiesta, a representative from the Municipality of Nagtipunan, also set the program in his message of support to the project. The training was attended by 12 participants from 4 RHUs ensuring minimum health protocols.
RxBox Super User Training Part 2 morning session was filled with discussions on how to use all the modules of RxBox, technical operations, and troubleshooting facilitated by the RxBox Management Team. In the afternoon, they were also given the time to hands-on practice with the RxBox before the return demonstration. Each RHU was evaluated on return demonstration to ensure that health workers were capacitated on the usage of RxBox devices.
Registered Nurse of RHU Aglipay Heidi Macud shared her experience in using RxBox. She said that they are happy that RxBox is not complicated to use and can re-echo its usage easily. A representative from RHU Maddela, Ms. Juliene Movilla , also voiced their commitment to the project by doing their best to utilize the said device on their RHU.
“Maganda po siya. In this time of pandemic and travel restrictions, hindi na po need ng pasyente na pumunta sa higher level of hospitals para magpa test (ECG) kasi magiging available napo siya sa RHU namin. Sakto isa din po kaming birthing facility, di na po mahihirapan sa monitoring ng pregnant women,” said by Ms. Maureen Rivera, Registered nurse of RHU Cabarroguis during the feedback and response session of the training when asked on possible usefulness of RxBox.
The training was concluded by the closing message of Ms. Gorospe thanking and appreciating the efforts of all health workers who attended the training despite their busy schedules. The RHU Diffun, Quirino will also be awarded once Batch 2 of RxBox devices arrive at the regional office from the manufacturer. (S&T Pen – Jenny-Rose Masocol)
