November 25, 2021 – The Department of Science and Technology Region 02 (DOST R02) officially launched its Salt Production and Iodization Project in Uyugan, Batanes. The project was launched through the Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) in Batanes, led by Provincial Director Nora T. Garcia.

Aside from that, DOST R02 also showcased, through a virtual tour, the proposed salt production facility to be constructed in the province.
The project launch was attended by key DOST Personnel and officials from the local government unit of Batanes, such as Uyugan Mayor Jonathan Enrique V. Nanud Jr., and Governor Marilou H. Cayco. (S&T Pen 02-Hanz Mallillin)
