The Department of Science and Technology Region 02 in collaboration with DOST Technology Application and Promotion Institute and Philippine Science Cagayan Valley Campus conducted the 2022 Regional Science and Technology Week in Cagayan Valley. This is an annual event which showcases DOST-developed, Technologies including DOST programs, projects and services and gathers various stakeholders in the industry, government, agriculture, communication and education sectors.

Bannered with the theme: "Agham at Teknolohiya Kabalikat sa MauSnlad at Matatag na Kinabukasan", this year’s Regional Science and Technology Week pushed forward its programs, projects, and services to attain its very goal – to become the lead science, technology, and innovation (STI) hub in the region.

One of the activities of the Regional Science and Technology week is the “SET IT UP FESTIVAL”.

The highlight of this year’s celebration is the conduct of SMALL ENTERPRISES TECHNOLOGY UPGRADING PROGRAM (SET IT UP) Festival held on the 2nd day of the Regional Science and Technology week.

This activity's aim is for the SETUP beneficiaries to shine and showcase their creativity in the SET-IT-UP activity and Show Me Experiential (SME) innovation contest.

DOST R02 Regional Director Virginia G. Bilgera officially opened the activity and welcomed all DOST Officials, MSME’s and speakers in the activity.

“Continually maximize the power of technology and encourage everyone to utilize and adopt innovative ways and remain to be the channel that strengthens our economy and our country’s growth potential.” RD Bilgera emphasized in her message.

The activity was graced by Dr. Dave Centena, marketing expert of UP Diliman together with Provincial Director Jonathan Nuestro and Ms. Ragel D. Tacazon of Department of Trade and Industry. They served as the evaluators in the competition.

The winner for the SETUP FESTIVAL “iset-up mo yan!” Contest was from Isabela province. The award was given to SETUP-assisted MSME for their innovativeness and creativity during the activity. The selection criteria included creativity, cost efficiency, durability and overall appearance.

The winner for the SETUP FESTIVAL “Product peaching” was Ms. Glenda Gordo of Doques Food Products. The award was given to SETUP-assisted MSME for their efforts and excellence in promoting their product during the activity. The selection criteria included Innovations, market acceptability, and the overall appearance of the product.
