Strategize to strengthen the connection to the environment, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02 led by Dr. Virginia G. Bilgera thru the Scholarship Unit partnered with the Cagayan State University- Andrews Campus Guild of Limitless and Driven Science Scholars (CSU GOLDS) in a tree planting activity last February 25, 2023 held at Pinacanauan De Tuguegarao Riverbank.

With the theme "Treesponsibility: DOST-SEI Scholars Tree planting Activity," Over two hundred bamboo plants were distributed to the DOST scholars for the tree planting activity.
This is one of their ways to learn responsibility by caring for the environment, learn how to communicate and compromise with each other, to gain leadership skills, and to develop self-confidence by letting them improve physical and mental health as well as the love of nature.
The activity was participated in by almost 76 DOST Scholars in collaboration with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office in Tuguegarao (CENRO), under the direction of Mr. Marcelino Gumabay.
